today at the funeral home. Mr. Bridges was born Dec. 4, 1915, in Cleburne County, son of Malachi Bridges and Velma Webb. He was a member of Huguley (Ala.) United Methodist Church and WestPoint Pepperell's 50-Year Club and was employed at WestPoint Pepperell for 53 years and later at Lanier Carter Mill.

Survivors include his wife, Lucy; two sons, Jerry Bridges and Chris Bridges, both of Huguley; a daughter, Jeni Bridges of Conyers, a sister, Juanita Scroggins of Opelika; and six grandchildren. Brooks, 88, of Fortson died Tuesday at Doctors Hospital, Columbus. The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Vance Memorial Chapel, Columbus, with burial in Parkhill Cemetery. Mrs. Brooks was born March 31, 1905, in Dale County, daughter of Ida Cooper Rolling and John Pickens Rolling.

She was a homemaker, a member of Porter Memorial Baptist Church and the widow of Hiram R. Brooks. Survivors include five sons, Clifford, Brunnell, Robert, Perry and George; three daughters Sara, Doris and Margie, all of Georgia; a brother, George H. Willie Clyde Stilwell Capps, 86, of Opelika died Tuesday at her home. The funeral and burial will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Shiloh Baptist Church, according to Colonial Funeral Home, Phenix City. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Capps was born Sept. 30, 1907, in Chambers County, daughter of. Andrew and Annie Mae Clark Stilwell. With her husband, she was owner and operator of Capps General Merchandise and Farm Operation, was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and its Sunday school, and was the widow of Benjamin W.

Capps. Survivors include a son, George Wesley Capps of Opelika; five sisters, Nancy Talbot, Hazel Holt, Barbara Jernigan and Alma Stilwell, all of Columbus, and Jeanette Brady of West Palm Beach, two grandchildren; and a great- grandchild. She had lived in LaGrange most of her life, retired from Ideal Cleaners as a seamstress and was a member of Unity United Methodist Church, LaGrange. Lake Haralson, 74, of Lanett died Monday at Lanier Memorial Hospital, Valley. The graveside funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Marseilles Cemetery, West Point, according to McCarthy Funeral Home, West Point. Mr. Haralson was born Aug.

24, 1919, in Lanett, son of Sara Jane Stripling Haralson and Edward Weyman Haralson Sr. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Lanett, served in the U.S. Army's 96th Ordnance Co. during World War II and retired as a salesman for the former Georgia-Alabama Supply West Point, with 30 years of service. Arthur L. Horne Sr. VALLEY, Ala. Arthur L. "Popcorn" Horne 62, of Valley died Tuesday at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Tuskegee.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home, Valley, with burial in Fairfax Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mr.

Horne was born Dec. 9, 1931, in Fairfax, son of L.L. and Lucy Juanita Horne. He was owner and operator of Community Shopette and Camp Halawaka, was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and attended Emanuel Baptist Church Temple.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie; a son, A. Lanier Horne Jr. of Tallahassee, a sister, Margarite Taylor of High Point, N.C.; and four brothers, Clarence Horne, Eugene Horne and Branson Horne, all of Valley, and Lee Horne of Anniston. Mrs. Hoskins was born in Knoxville, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh C. Hoskins.

She lived in Knoxville most of her life, moved to Auburn five years ago, worked at Albers Drug Co. and was a member of First Baptist Church, Auburn. Survivors include a sister, Elizabeth H. Robinson of Chattanooga, and two nephews, William H. Robinson Jr.

of Lanett and Glenn H. Robinson of Martin, Tenn. Minnie Louise House BRUNDIDGE, Ala. Former Columbus resident Minnie Louise House, 79, of Brundidge died Thursday at Troy (Ala.) Hospital. The funeral and burial was Monday at Wesley Chapel Methodist Church, Lumpkin, according to Jackson and Bryan Funeral Home, Brundidge.

Mrs. House was born in Lumpkin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lum Dunaway. Survivors include two daughters, Jean Blair of Ferndale, and Louise McWaters of Brundidge; six sons, Billy House of Anthony, N.M., Scoville House of Waco, Texas, Walter House of Brundidge, Bobby House of East Ridge, Gerald House of Ocoee, and James Alfred House of Slocomb; 31 grandchildren; 47 great- grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Alberta P. McMillan AUBURN, Ala. Alberta Palmour McMillan, 79, of Auburn died Monday at East Alabama Medical Center, Opelika. The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Founders Chapel, Auburn, with burial in Auburn Memorial Park, according to Jeffcoat Funeral Home, Opelika.

Mrs. McMillan was born Jan. 17, 1914, in College Park, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Palmour.

She taught library science at Auburn University, was a charter member of the Auburn University Chamber Music Society, and was a member of the Unitarian Church. She was the widow of Knox McMillan. Survivors include two sons, Miller McMillan of Santa Monica, and James P. McMillan of Atlanta; a brother, William Palmour, and a sister, Mary Louise Barker, both of Atlanta. Lessie "Bea" Kennedy Williamson, 86, of Clayton died Monday at Lakeview Community Hospital. Mrs. Williamson was born Sept. 26, 1907, in Barbour County, daughter of William and Melissa Green Kennedy. She was a member of Clayton Baptist Church, its Baptist Women and Sunday school, and was the widow of Walter Jones Williamson. Survivors include four sons, John W.

Williamson of Clayton, Robert Williamson of Columbus, Gerald Williamson and Donald Ray Williamson, both of Eufaula; three daughters, Grace Smith of Georgetown, Ruth Leyva of San Antonio and Betty Spires of Clayton; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a greatgreat-grandchild. The funeral will be 4 p.m. today at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel, Valley, with burial in Resthaven Cemetery. Mr. Young was born Jan. 20, 1908, in Clay County, son of Silas Young and Lera Vickers.

He was a member of Lanett United Methodist Church and its Men's Bible Class and was a former member of the Kiwanis club. He retired from Lanett Bleachery Dye Works as plant manager with 45 years of service. Survivors include his wife, Estelle; two sons, Billy Young of Jacksonville, and Bobby Young of Lanett; two sisters, Loma Lee Crosby of Valley and Alma Forbus of Alexander City; five grandchildren; and six greatgrandchildren. The funeral was Tuesday at A.A. Rayner Funeral Home Chapel, Chicago, with burial in Chicago National Cemetery, Mr. Meridith was born March 13, 1927, in Ellerslie, son of Willis and Lena J. Meridith. He was a retired crane operator, an U.S.

Army veteran and a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church, Chicago. He was a former member of Central Baptist Church, Ellerslie. Survivors include his wife, Helen; four sisters, Patsy M. Hollis, Laverne Taylor and Elizabeth Rutherford, all of Ellerslie, and Precious Gumm of Chicago; and a brother, Delano Meridith of Chicago. John Bradley ANTIGO, Wis.

John Bradley, the last survivor among the servicemen shown raising the U.S. flag on Iwo Jima in a famous World War II photograph, died Tuesday of a stroke. He was 70. Bradley, who served in the Navy as a pharmacist mate second class, helped five Marines raise the flag on Mount Suribachi on Feb. 23, 1945.

The death at Langlade Memorial Hospital was announced in a release from the Bradley Funeral Home, which his family owned. Associated Press photographer Joe Rosenthal took the Pulitzer Prize-winning picture of the flagraising on the summit of Mount Suribachi. It became the model for the Iwo Jima Memorial near Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church where she was actively involved in Sunday School and other church activities.
